For us it was no different. As the number of services and products grew, the classic dropdown became hard to follow. So we built a mega menu that organises content instead of stacking it: SuperNav. The menu at the top of this page runs on it.

SuperNav works independently of the theme. Panels can be split into columns and given images, short descriptions, badges and an action bar at the bottom. A panel can mirror a menu structure automatically or take any content via shortcode. There is also a menu that stays fixed while scrolling, search in the menu, a mobile navigation as a sidebar, and visibility rules per user role — applied on the server, not merely hidden with CSS.

Was wir beim Bau gelernt haben

A mega menu has to work in unfamiliar environments. We therefore tested SuperNav on themes that do not follow every convention — for example templates that never call the usual entry points for styles. That produced a robust output that brings its own design. We also rethought the positioning of the panels several times, until they stay cleanly at the edge at every screen width.

A menu is not a list of links. It is the first orientation — and that has to be right at first glance.
Ingo Zimmermann

A second focus is multilingual use. In the Pro-Version menu texts can be translated into further languages – with AI if you want, with a table for editing afterwards and export/import for checking with translators. Colours are set with colour pickers and an eyedropper, and a review mode shows all panels at once so layout questions can be settled quickly.

In short: SuperNav turns an overloaded dropdown into a navigation where visitors find what they are looking for.

If you want to use SuperNav on your website or have it adapted to your theme, we are happy to talk about it.

Das Menü oben auf dieser Seite ist SuperNav.
